thats all ive got! Some1 explain whats so bad about cold steel? if it stems from publicity about a video or 2 - grow up, if the knives are good, sharp, and made in the USA Im all for them

Now that it's mentioned, this is an interesting point. It's increasingly difficult to find personal items that are "Made in the USA". I occasionally make business trips to China (to facilitate a line of products NOT made in the USA :( ), and my Chinese friends LOVE gifts that are made in the US. Items with an authentic Made in USA label are prized posessions there, and quite uncommon! As I'm shopping for these gifts, the best ones I've come across so far are flashlights and KNIVES! Long live the US knife industry!!!

Of ones I can afford...

1. Kershaw (for nice designs) - tie
1. Benchmade (for smooth locks and good designs) - tie
3. Spydero (for great values)
4. Boker Subcom (just this knife)
5. Buck (certain ones, great values)

Of ones I can't afford...

Chris Reeves
Emerson
Microtech
and others I don't bother looking at

Can only discuss companies whose knives I own...

1) Busse Combat
2) Swamp Rat
3) Chris Reeve
4) Benchmade
5) Spyderco

And, really, quite a few others -- but the 'rule' is 5.
