Top 5 Operation Two Weeks Offerings?

I stumbled into Op2Wks as a wee pink piglet newb who was only looking for a Ratmandu. Then the weekly offers and Exchange hit me like a wrecking ball lol.

Managed to let go of a few along the way, but otherwise it's pretty much been a wild 18 months of steady accumulation since I took the plunge. My collection is heavy on battle grade and other sr-101 offerings, but I have zero complaints about the performance and it was an excellent way for me to buy a lot of stuff quickly while not breaking the bank.

I gave this some thought and looked over the chronology. There are several I still wonder about, but overall I think given what I was comfortable spending during the madness, there's not much I would do differently if I was given a mulligan.

My top 5 are (by mass):

1) BG AMS
2) Jackmandu
3) BOOM Parang
4) DTBM (may be supplanted by BME2 eventually)
5) CGBB13

Some Regerts:

1) MSE. I passed on both Mean Streets when offered, but later picked up a BG AMS off the Exchange and love it. Makes me wonder if I would like the BG MSE even more, but few have come up for sale and it seems like friggin everybody went for the g10 upgrade... I'd want micarta scales. (Only have myself to blame though.)

2) Urban Grudge. The pics of these are killing me lately, especially the LE.

3) About a dozen more that have a high want factor, but talked myself out of due to budget and/or already being deep at the position.

Unfortunately I missed most of these offerings, but hoping to get my hooves on several of them... Especially the ones in my list below!

1. Battle SAW... Hands down the No. 1 OP2W offering! Thankfully, I was around for this one. :)

2. Urban Fudge & Urban Grudge LE... I need, need need to get my hooves on a pair of these!

3. WTF CS... No other word needed but iconic. Doubt I'd ever use it, but I need it.

4. BOOM Parang... Thought this would have made the list for more piglets & porkers on here. Thankfully I scored one off the exchange!

5. HOGnose Sword... Damn I can't believe I missed this beauty! :(

And a big honorable mention for the Fatback and LE Defenders... I've never been much of a tanto guy, but this is sure to be a winner!!! The SOS's are looking mighty tempting too... And soooo glad I scored an ASH 2, pure awesome INFI!!

I'm glad to see you back in the saddle. Or rather back at the trough. I've got to give this top 5 a little more thought.

1. BB13 CG
2. Team Gemini P BG
3. Double talon battle mistress
4. Battle saw
5. Hog nosed war sword

BB13 was the only one I actually bought (x2)

Battle saw seems to be the only consistent top 5 pick. It's definitely an instant classic. I'd love to see a mini version with 6 or 7 inch blade...

This thread needs pics btw.

-BOOM Parang
-BG AMS
-CGBB13
-Jackmandu
-DTBM

Mean Street Ergo- very comfortable, great EDC/utility size.

Scrap Yard Skinner- not as nice looking as the MS-E, more comfortable though.

Chop Houses, both flavors. Fantastic camp knife size, comfy handles, well balanced.

TRASH-2- Great for the same reasons as the Chop Houses with a more traditional blade shape.

Ergo Mini Muk - With the Ergo handle and Muk blade I'm guessing this will be quite a hit.

I won/'t know my top 5 until I've had chance to handle them.
I'm thinking I should have bought a chance to handle an Urban Fudge.

Nice set Grogimus. I've been close to jumping on a SYKCO Skinner a couple of times and have heard a lot of good things about the Chop Houses as well.

1-Urban Fudge LE. This will be the most sought after blade from op2w years to come
2-Urban grudge LE .this will end up being used more than its fat brother
3-Ms ergo .awesome design. Just wish the handle was a 1/2" longer ,my hand feels cramped in there.
4-Ash2 - just because it's an Ash
5-Fatback defender Le. This will rank up there with the Fudge , but I can't put it up there until I get one in hand.
edit:
6- Battlesaw . Forgot about this one. Until they are offered uncoated without cbt's they will stay here at 6.

Well Said Bullpin, +1

Except maybe the part about the Battle Saw... Strippers need love too!

Great thread idea Rick!

  1. WTF - Nothing else out there quite like it. It's the poster child for what Busse represents, big, powerful, overbuilt fixed blades that are nearly indestructable. You can say what you want about the practicality of it, but this knife is a marvel for what it is.
  2. Battle Saw - Iconic knife with a saw on the spine, how cool is that? Very cool I say.
  3. Urban Fudge / Urban Grudge LE - Big improvements over the HG55 in ergonomics, with a very practical blade shape and design. Oh, and it's satin INFI!
  4. ASH-2 - An excellent all-around user with an INFI blade. I know it wasn't an official O2W offering, but the limited release of ASH-2's with a competition finish are really an unbelievably good knife.
  5. Hognose War Sword - I know that this one has not been released yet but I'm including it anyways. Also, it seems like there is not a whole lot of chatter about this knife, but there really should be! It's a Busse with a 16" blade for under $450. You could make a whole zombie slaying TV series focused around this knife, seriously it's a one handed sword / club. Time will tell, but this could be a knife for the ages.

Ya...War Train Fusion
BB13
WTH
Bunker Buster
Camp Cleaver.. cause it's a first

There was only one that I wanted, and I got it.

Next up, MOAB in SR-101.

That's definitely one that I really regretted missing on. Luckily I scored one in the Cupidganza in the colors I would've picked had they been available in the first go-round.
