Top 5 production marvels of all time

A number of interesting choices. Definitely agree about SAK, Opinel, Buck 110, an early Spyderco.
I would also include the totally iconic and 150-years old ancient design that is the laguiole !!!

I've owned Sebenzas. Never have liked a metal handle though.
Maybe again one day, if I can find a small Classic in BG-42 with the micarta inlay.
I'm not holding my breath.

I agree that Victorinox has to go on there, though I'd have no idea how to pick the right model.
The quality you get for your money is insane, and you can go anywhere in the world and find people with SAKs.

Are people arguing for the 710 because of the Axis lock? I have one, and I like it.
If it's just the lock, I wonder if the CS American Lawman ought to be on the list.
According to my buddy Moose, that triad lock is the bee's knees, and he'd love to see it on other knives.
I handled his knife and can say that it is rock solid.

Hard to narrow this down to just five:

Mil. BG42
Para (any model)
Caly (any model)
Buck 112
The one and only Sebenza (any model)

Enough said about the top {5} LOL

1. SAK (any - my favorite is the SwissChamp)
2. Opinel (sharp an d cheap)
3. Buck 110 (a legend ...and a tank)
4. Spyderco (one hand opening, pocket clip - my favorite is the Endura)
5. Fällkniven S1 (the perfect Outdoorknife)

Jason, the micarta inlays were never made with BG42. Just didn't want you to waste time looking for one. I bought the first micarta inlay sold(Blade 05 debut), and its S30V.

I like your(OP's) list, but would change two.

Spyderco Military
CRK Sebenza
Buck 110 (though I don't care for them, I went with a Puma in the 70's)
Victorinox (any)
Case Trapper
