Top Ten Must-Have H.I. Products

Looks like the WWll, the 18" AK, and M43 are making a lot of lists.

I forgot about the Jange. I have to get one someday. All in good time.

+1 on the excellent thread!

My top picks:

The first two are must haves, primarily in memorial of the first namesake and out of respect for the namesakes of both knives, and also because both models are intrinsically great designs and are exceptionally appealing (IMO):

2. Yangdu Special Katunje

The others are in no particular order:

3. Gelbu Special
4. 18" BGRS
5. 17" Foxy Folly
6. Malla
7. BAS
8. 18" WWII
9. 18" Sirupate

I don't have 10, I have 4 khuks and an assortment of the smaller knives, so this is mostly a wishlist. A really fun one to make though. Good job Dan!

First the ones I have in order of preference:

1. 18" GRS with Satistal wood handle by Bura
2. 16.5" CAK with beautiful horn handles by Kumar
3. Collection of small antler handled HI knives (kumar karda, sarge, sarge, and JKM)
4. 20" Jange, recently acquired in the DOTD by Bura. Not currently #1 because of my lack of using it, and the work I've got to do on the handle.
5. 12" Badune Special by Bura. My first DOTD pickup!

Now the rest of the 10:

6. Foxy Folly---Ordered!!!!!
7. Kermabit---On the list!!!!!

3. 18" Ganga Ram (beautiful and a great chopper)
4. Kerambit (this is a must for any REAL member of the cantina)
5. Any of the swords - I recommend the manjushree or the tibetan sword

Personal collection at the moment:
25" Gelbu special, 17" Foxy Folly, Chandan UB salyan, and of course the others:
trishul, 11" YCS karda, Kukar Karda, JKM, Cherokee Rose bowie, Ak bowie, Manjushree sword

OK, so I like the exotic stuff. The good old WWII is my all time fave to this day.
