TOPS Black Star and Laser Strike

Hotlinking images is theft!

What a joke. Yes, very LS-like. Good looking knife. TOPS has some of the nicest scales in the business IMO.

You have been busted.......

the TOPS Police department have been dispatched to your location

Is it just me or does anyone else find the humor in a "Hotlink is theft" image posted about a knife that was created by another manufacturer several years ago but is being "imitated" by another? Ironic. :D

Dude, you just got served! Seriously, that's pretty much the LS for sure. Except it looks like someone thought a sharpened back edge was good. I'd buy one for about $100 or so less than MSRP.

God bless,
Adam

This is not lost on me. I wished to refrain from saying it seemed so since I really don't know the release time-line of the LS and the Death Star or whatever in the world the lookalike is called.

God bless,
Adam

someone funk-Da-fied the spine of the blade.

yes back in 2000/2001 TOPS Produced the Laser Strike as it was called then and had a raised portion in the handle area for striking the firesteel, poor seller ,so the LS was slowly killed off If I recall ????
not sure when the revamped Black star was released but man the spine area is a mess....
The Original version back in 2001

The Laser strike was 10" OAL ,3/16th" ,5" blade with Micarta scales.

Just for the record, I'm not saying TOPS stole anything or accusing them, I know they first produced it as the LS, and most manufacturers don't throw away tooling. I just thought it was funny, that's all.

And they will all me toting Hawke's Hellion or whatever the hell they call that Myke Hawke knife.

Too bad they wont send my-ke hawke(sorry, couldnt resist) with it. Someone needs to punch that guy in the throat and maybe fix his voice.
But yup. Looks like a total copy of the LS with the sharpened spine.

Based on the "combat" description on the tops page, that would explain why they decided on having an edge on both sides - makes total sense.

I was being sarcastic. Hard to believe, I know. :D

I kinda figured that. ;)

But some mods can be sensitive to that sort of thing. So rather than have the thread go way off topic down the road of "internet etiquette," I figured it best to remove it to focus on the knife.

Very ironic....:D

I can assure you there is no stealing of anything going on. TOPS and us are great friends. The Black Star sort of came from the Laser Strike. Different knife with the swedge though.

The damn internet can cause more shit to get stirred up that anything known to man. Someone can make an assumption about something and the whole world is ready to burn the accused at the stake. Mike Fuller is good people. Trust me, he doesn't need to knock something off to make money.
