Tops bob or bk16?

It won't be long before you are looking at neck knives for woods use because you seldom need anything more. The BK-14 with handles is a good one. I just bought a Condor Mini Bushlore (3" blade).... it is smaller than many of my folders including my SAK. But there is something about this knife that I really like and for $40 or there abouts, it's fun. (No, I really didn't shop for price. Just bought it.) Frankly, I could easily get by with this and my SAK in most any woods situation requiring me to cut stuff or even baton some wood to get to the dry inner stuff.

Is the handle smaller than the normal Bushlore?

I've used the normal model, but haven't really looked at the Mini, mostly because usually when they scale down knives, they scale down both the handle, and the blade. And the Bushlore handle was close to the right size for me, so I'm not sure how I'd do with a 2/3 sized one.

It is a full 3 finger knife; perhaps squeeze in a fourth. It is not a knife you will be muscle cutting with. I added a leather wrist lanyard so I can easily grab the knot to pull the knife out of its little sheath. I bet it would baton just fine on little stuff. Tough little blade.

I have the normal sized model too as well as the original with the thick bar steel. That one is my yard knife.

lol i'm not really a fan of neck knives. i have a bk14 and its a great blade for sure. i used it earlier this morning actually, love the control i have with the stout little blade. its the whole 2 handed operation i dont like, having to use both hands to put it away isn't always ideal.

thanks for all the input! much appreciated and everyones thoughts went into consideration with this purchase. i went for the Becker BK16, :chuncky::chuncky: stoked about useing it this fall!
i'm sure i'll purchase the Tops BoB eventually as well.

Just got home from work. Checked the mail and there it was. As expected very comfortable in hand.

I have owned dozens of backers over the years but not this model. I like the Bob more but am curious about the Becker. Lot of interest in for it. Let us know how you feel over time with use.

Fantastic knife. I have quite a few Beckers but only one tweener, a 15 (which I love).
I have handled the 16 quite extensively while doing the mods to the one I linked earlier. Nice knife in a nice size and no choil.

Might I suggest that you sand the rough coating a tad smoother or strip the blade, it will cut much smoother and more efficiently. All it would need is a touch of mineral oil every now and then.

Again, congrats and enjoy!
