I tried to search and had no luck so Im posting this.
I've had a Tops Bob and liked it but gave it to my nephew ... so Im looking for a new knife and LT Wright Genisis and Bushcrafter caught my attention. So my question is has anyone used both the Tops and one of the LT Wright knives? And how they compared for bushcraft and camp chores?
Or some thoughts and opinions on the Lt Wright knives ... I've never had the chance to try any LT Wright knives.

I don't care for the Tops Bob due to the thickness. It's too thick for such a short knife. The LT Wright is a great knife with an appropriate thickness.

I have both - the Genesis and Bushcrafter. Both are comfortable in the hand and have great blade shape. I have scandi Genesis(s) and a flat Bushcrafter. LTWK does some great work.

I have the BOB too - I would sell my Tops before my LTWKs - not that I sell any knives.

thanks for the replies ... I've been wanting to try an LT Wright ... but had never held one yet. The Tops BOB did everything I needed I just wondered if the LT Wrights might do them better. And its always a good chance to try something new in this situation.

I have a Genesis and a Blind Horse bushcrafter flat grind and used to have a TOPS BOB. The BOB is a great knife no doubt, but the Genesis and bushcrafter are on a different level. Hand made and to me, heirloom quality knives that will be passed down. The Genesis is 1/8 thick, the bushcrafter is 5/32. Both are great cutters and slicers and the sheaths are excellent. No disrespect to the BOB as all three knives are great.

thanks tidefan ... I also thought the BOB was a good knife but have been seriously thinking of trying a LT Wright and reading the responses I think I will ... Either the Genisis or Brushcrafter.

The BOB, which I have owned at one point, is a great knife that does a lot for you and feels pretty indestructible. It is a very rugged and robust tool that takes anything you through at it. The LT Wright's will cut better and that sharpened spine they have is just plain useful for wood work. Both great knives, but if you have the money and want a knife that will cut better, look good and be overall more nimble I'd say go with the LT. If you want to have a knife you can beat on mercilessly that will still get things done for you go with the Bob. That was why I loved my Bob when I had it, it just works. Personally I'd also say give the GNS a look too, one of the most comfortable handles ever and the saber grind makes it a better general purpose knife over the scandi (unless you are going FFG) if you want it for food prep as well as wood working and camp chores. The scandi will work wood a little better. The GNS is also a little cheaper than the Genesis, but end of the day whatever appeals to you more.

For what's it's worth, I have a bushcrafter and it's the most comfortable knife I own. It's the one that will be used whilst backpacking.

thanks for the comparision pictures Whitty. I knew the LT Wright was a thicker handle which is one thing that drew me to it.

And thanks Grey Falcon ... I've looked at the GNS and think it might be a future purchase I like the design but think my first will be the Genisis or Brushcrafter ... maybe both if I can't decide.

Thanks Luke ... I may try both and see if one outshines the other ... I have fairly large hands makes me lean towards the Genisis but I dont think theres alot of size difference in handles just shape of the scales forward towards the blade.
