Tops Devil's claw 2, any love? Or hate?

I understand. I use a short piece of string or fob/lanyard for that kind of thing. Catch the knot with your pinky and comes right out. It's reasonably common on smaller fixed blades.

Just to point out another solution that could give you more knife options to look at that don't have finger rings.

I've never been a big fan of the tail on knives so I've never really given them a chance. My ursis is my only knife I have a tail on and I added it this spring for a ATV trip to a glacier. It was more for Incase I dropped it at night but I've left it on there since it doesn't seem to get in the way. 20220326_171558.jpg
It looks like I can get the izula on a teklok horizontal without having to make a new sheath so I might put a tail on it to try it out and see if I like it. 20220926_104853.jpg
Included the SO82 for reference on my previous blade shape. Don't care for the camo but I thought I lost my black one and it popped up on eBay for $75. I managed to drop it by the freezer and luckily my wife found it for me a few days later. I've not been a huge Kershaw fan for a serious work knife but the n690 does hold up well. Since going to the claymore I'm loosing the fine point and it'll be critical to carry a knife that replaces it.

The 4 is pretty much the 3 but slightly bigger. The 5 is again, slightly bigger, but MUCH thicker. I'm almost thinking the 4'd be perfect for you. I believe it comes with a lanyard hole so at the very least you could make a paracord ring ;D.

Edit: As for shop work, maybe the Izula II would be even better than 3.
I don't know, the 3 is much thinner and for me performs much better as an edc/utility knife. The thought is spot on though. An esee 3 with the warranty makes a great beater knife. You can also get in s35vn for a stainless option.

The local shop has an esee 3 in s35vn in the display case. I may have to go out hands on it if having the pull on the izula works out.

I was eyeing the esee-3 at the local shop the other day. Looked good was just hoping to find something with the ring on it. I may pick up a 3 as they do look like a handy size. I just bought a field buddy 5.5 so I don't need a esee-6. But it's to big for shop work.

Maybe the Lionsteel H1 or H2.

David Mary David Mary does a lot of hawkbill designs. I haven't seen as many with a ring lately but he has done them before. May be worth the consideration.

He recently finished up an exclusive model for New River Knifeworks that I think has a lot of what you're asking for, except for the pinky ring. Maybe that's something you could request if you're okay with the wait time of a custom?

The price for the river hawk is right around your price point.

In transparency: I work often with David to make my own knife designs.

Thanks for the shout out bikerector bikerector . So far people seem happy with the capabilities of their river hawks. Jason New River Knife Works New River Knife Works may still have a few available, and is the guy to reach out to for those ones.
