this was one of those knives that i feel in love with at first sight but then it fell of my radar when i realized that really no one has reviewed it thoroughly. my question is if anyone owns it or knows of someone who owns it and can tell me if it is any good? is it good for the price? ($75 USD) thank you everyone

I don't recall reading about one here but a little internet searching found reviews on youtube and positive feedback on the site named after a river. Tops gets negative publicity based on the names they use for their knives, but they seem to make some good products.

Sure, it's a good knife for the money - however, I paid $20 for mine in 2001 or so... I remember the cord wrapped version being around $30 and the micarta handled version being $40 or so.

IMO, the price you mentioned is a little steep to me for what you get.

A picture of mine. I broke the tip off and had to reshape it:

What's up with that grind? Mine doesn't stop and flare out like that. It looks like they wanted the grind 3/16" thick, but the spine is 1/4". I'm betting it would hinder cutting a lot of things.

Not sure, the Scalpel was on my list years ago but I never bought one....The Cougar Claw beat it out by a large magin for percieved usefulness.
