TOPS Knives - Who is out there?

That's kinda what I was getting at. :D
I'll see if I can get a clarification from their owner. Just sent an email, but may take a few days to get a response.

Whatever people say about TOPS knives, I have the Armageddon and the Rangers Edge, and yes they were a but expensive, but they are very good knives.

I think on the whole for 1095 knives they are way overpriced.

Just curious, I was browsing the TOPS website and found they do have several models that use steel other than 1095. To list a few...

S30V: "D.A.R.T. (Direct Action Rescue Team)"

154CM: "Screaming Eagle", "Pasayten Lite Traveler", "Nite Chaser", "Sea Wolfe", "B.E.S.T. Border Crossing"

425M: "Bird and Trout Knife"

TOPS has a siginificant number of models and only a small handfull seem to deviate from the 1095 (which I have had no issues with) but I was curious on the quality of the TOPS knives when they dabble in other steels. Anyone every toyed around with any of these?

Here is my Tops Armeggeddon. Its a hell of a chopper and very nice fit and finish.

Sorry, finally did get a reply from the TOPS owner on the Armageddon steel question.
Whereas back about the end of October the TOPS rep told me the original Armageddons were made with S30V (which was what the one I had in my hand that day was marked), but they were later changed to 1095; the owner now advises the originals actually were 1095 & mismarked as S30V.
So, looks like just an oops early on in production & none of them were S30V. Apparently the rep I talked to was mistaken.
