TOPS new tan coating?

I like the looks of the blade on the right, but the scales on the left hand side are nice! The smoother coating would probably provide less drag while cutting, too. I’d have to vote left for functionality.

A coin toss for me.

 

One of the reasons I dont own many is because I am not 13 years old and think a knife needs a tacticool high speed low drag name.

I really dig the knives, the robust build, the treatment of their steel...ugh, but those names.

So my vote would be whatever one you like and then use some epoxy stripper to take it to bare steel...but thats just me.

 

I'd say the smooth coating (Cerakote?) over the rough coating.

 

You made the right choice choosing smoother.
He rougher the texture, the more friction the blade creates when cutting with it.

 

Simple, Keep the smooth one the way you like it and like mentioned strip the rough finished one. You'll have the best of both your worlds.
