Bro you need to get your facts straight before you post stuff like that. The first knife is a Rat Cutlery blade and the tip was broken off as just about ANY knife blade would under the obvious stress it was put under.

The second knife is an Ontario knife designed by the RAT guys, but NOT MADE by them. Ontarios Heat treat of their D2 and 1095 has been sketchy in the past and that is why that one failed.

The last knife is from a different whole company. has nothing to do with Rat Cutlery.

Yep.

Notice how the RC knife is the only one with the least amount of damage from abuse? :D

sr-77 is a proven tougher steel than 1095 or viceversa:jerkit:
Wait Rat Cutlery doesn't use sr-77 or sr -101:eek:
facts straight here....What you want a video:D:D
Go east my friend go east:D

Rat doesn't ask questions about warranty repairs.
They figure if you can break it, then they can replace it.
They don't get many takers though, 'cause Rats just don't generally break BUT TOPS KNIVES DO BREAK!

Get a RAT!!

Try knifesshipfree.com. They have good prices (no extra shipping cost) and availability.

Their customer service is outstanding!

Thanks for all of your help! I ended up going with a RC-4 from Cumberland Knife Works......have never ordered with them before, but the price and availability was attractive......will see.
Thanks again for all of your input!
Cheers,
JT

There are so many other factors in determining the strength of a knife blade than just blade steel alone.

Odd, especially considering that Rowen manufactures both TOPs' and RAT Cutlery's knives. Did you get that? Both companies use the same manufacturer, so the only real differences are style, price, and warranty.;)
