TOPs Pasayten

i have had one for several years, its nice for camp chores kitchen work and because of the large belly great for skinning, unfortunaltly it doesnt hold an edge very well at all, I normally have to resharpen the knife 2-3 times while skinning and each time after any cutting chores. Its one of my worse knives for holding an edge.

It was reviewed in Tactical Knives a while back.

I've never owned one. The only complaint I have against Tops is that the edges are really steep and then to reprofile them to where they would be good cutters you have to mess up the coating.

the pasayten is probably one of the few tops knives i like...i have never owned one, but i hear that are pretty nice camp knives.... TOPS edges are not so great though....:thumbdn:

interesting the edge does not last that long while useing it

I like a few of their designs but wish they'd ditch the thickness.

This one is cool (minus the false edge). Reminds me of the Laser Strike (want one of those badly).

I owned one and it was actually a great field knife. It's thin, light and I really like wide blades like that. For any general woods use, even batoning, you will like it.

The Pasayten is a really good design. I had a heck of a time reprofiling to get a better edge, but it's held up okay. I really like the wide, thin blade.

I was finally able to get it out on a couple of hikes during my Iraq mid-tour leave last year in March. Makes a great camp blade as it fits my 4-5" blade size for hikes and camp chores.
