Just been checking out the TOPS site and they have a few new cool looking blades.
It seems they have reacted to the constant complaints about their thick grinds and have now included a couple that look to have convex grinds, some with full flat and this one which really caught my eye with a Dozier Wilderness style edge to it.....

I like that tops alot but I feel like i have too many other knives that look similar too it not to mention with tool steel. BRKT still seem better options in that size blade. But it looks pretty nice.

This is what I like better.

Booooo apparently hotlinking is BAD!

Pitdog- thanks. That's dangerously close to what I've been searching for. I'll have to stare some more at the tip, hoping it will blur and look a little more pointed. Then there is cost, but maybe I could sell one or two I'll probably never use. We'll see.:) Regards, ss.

I like that knife but, as Straighshot said, the tip looks a little "blunt". Maybe it's the angle of the knife in the photo creating an optical delusion. I, personally, LOVE 154CM steel!

Check out the Dozier Wilderness knife, the end looks a very similar shape which I would guess makes for quite a strong tip.

I like the shape of that knife. And I'm sure coming from TOPS the quality will be there.

What's the deal with the giant Mall-Ninja style etch though?

Yea, I'm surprised I didn;t notice that at first glance, as loudly as it was screaming at me!

I always liked TOPS knives, but their low-on-the-blade primary grind just seemed too "obtuse" to me. THis one looks like a user! (after grinding away the screaming neon logo, of course) ((( :D )))

barrabas- Ever since seeing the bare blank of the BRKT Bravo I can't figure why they made such a large cutout so near the top of the tang. It looks to me like a little too much for failsafe strength. Whats your opinion? I wonder if all BRKT blanks are hollow between the scales. :)Regards, ss.

BTW- Wifey bought a Dozier Master Hunter for me (!) with this blade profile and it works great for skinning, but more pointed would be just a tad more versatile I think, for me anyway. The perfect blade quest again I guess....

It seems Tops knives are revamping and getting new knives in their line up. I saw the wolf pup (one of pitdog's neck knives) at the sportsman's warehouse except it was a very large wolf pup. I mean this thing was a beast compared to the smaller version.

Looks like you all that are mentioning the tip may like there wolfhound better. It still has a convex grind and g-10 handles but a more prominent tip.

looks hollow to me too.

I don't know for sure, but I think TOPS knives are actually CNC'd. I was once able to put 3 identical models next to each other (Anaconda) which you will agree isnt a poacket knife, and the grinds were identical. I know they are supposed to be 'Handmade' but which part is done like that. I'm not bagging them, I own a couple and they exude build quality, but the handmade thing is a bit iffy IMO.

It looks hollow ground indeed, but TOPS stated they switched from hollow ground blades to flat grinds a couple of years ago.
It's dangerous to decide on only one pic., best is just ask them

Their "Indio" seems to be a smaller version of their "Pasayten Light Traveller"
