So I'm selling off a few of my knives to help finance getting backpacking gear for my son for a trip to Philmont this year! As such, I'm selling my TOPS Silent Hero.

It's a great looking knife and sharp as a mother in law's tongue. I bought it thinking that I would have a use for it (that and I just really really really wanted it) but it has ended up sitting dormant in my gear drawer. I've never carried it, used it in the field, nor cut so much as a piece of paper with it. I oiled it and kept it in a drawer. Essentially, for me, it turned out to be an answer to a problem I didn't have. Damn. But what a nice looking knife.... I hate to sell it, but I just don't see it getting used. Hopefully is ends up in a better home and sees some wilderness time.

With regard to the handle...
The handle has the "Rocky Mountain Tread" form factor. However, I do believe that if you prefer the other type of grip, TOPS will replace it for $30 + S/H. Send it in to them and they'll do it in house. At least this way you can decide what works best for your preference. Apparently some folks HATE the Rocky Mountain Tread grips. Others like them. Unfortunately I cannot weigh in on the matter as I never used the knife. I will say, though, that I suspect that wearing gloves would be a good idea with prolonged use of this knife. It definitely won't slip out of your hands.
