I really wanted to add the Kizlyar model, which the Wild Pig Hunter is essentially a copy of, to my collection. But, they do not seem available in the US, and when they are, are often cost prohibitive. So, for now, my Wild Pig Hunter remains alone, (although I will someday try to partner it up alongside the Phoenix).
Now, for a question to those that may own a Kizlyar Phoenix... Is the blade hollow ground, or is it a saber grind?
The Tops is definitely a saber grind.
Pics I have seen of the Phoenix, seem to show a shallow hollow ground blade, but too hard to definitely tell by photos alone.
I do believe the saber grind is considered the tougher geometry of the two, with a hollow grind usually being considered better in the cutting arena?
Thanks in advance
