Tora Kukri Competition

Just the one whisky! I have too many scars as it is.

Saying that, some do bring back memories of knives long gone.

Nearly removed my thumb tip one Christmas morning while opening a candy box with an Aitor White Dragon. Alas, didnt put me off candy like it should have ;)

One index finger to the bone with a Cold Steel Mini Outdoorsman. Another good factory edge.

Nearly filleted the other thumb with an Aitor boot knife.

Oh yes, and a nice scar on the side of the top knuckle of an index finger from the closing blade of a SAK.

Toes have escaped so far, due to an ability to leap back quickly when I've dropped sharp things.

Love those Aitors!!!!:D I have the Spanish Army knife by Aitor. The Absolute -First- stainless knife I ever had that came sharp and stays sharp!!!!
Even when cutting Blackjack Oak, an Oklahoma hardwood that sucks sand up into itself.

Ya can na hardly leap when ye 're fast asleep.;)

Interesting thread! I didn't know this was a sore point about the competition aspect so jumped on over to the link as I am always interested in free goodies.

I read the Terms and Conditions right away which always pays, and if any of you are going to take the time to do the extensive research involved, you had better check out "Terms and Conditions #18" first: "All entrants must be a registered member of our discussion forums." !

It would be a real beyotch to do all that digging and then be disqualified because you hadn't joined their forum!

Just an FYI...(and they should have mentioned it up front IMO, as I think quite a few people are going to be pointed to this site and do the work to no avail because of this little detail.)

Regards,

Svashtar

I think the one I had is basically one of them, except it didnt have the black coating. Here's a link to it. Different name but the same knife as the White Dragon.

You're not wrong about it coming sharp...or staying sharp. I must have been around 12 or 14 when I got mine. Me and some friends used to go to some wasteland and build camps. That knife did some serious chopping and I dont ever remember it becoming blunt. I eventually sold it to the friend who used to build the camps with me, ( a great friend, known him 21 years now ), and he sold it on to someone else. I dare say it is still in use somewhere or other.

I've been thinking about getting the Aitor machete sometime. I've read some good things about it here on the forum. So many nice toys, so little space on the credit card :D .

My other favourite Spanish knife was a drop point Muela hunter.

See knife number 4:

I'd have got the stag one but I was a kid on holiday in Spain and it was too expensive for me at the time. A beautifully made knife. I eventually gave that one to the dad of above mentioned friend. I had been thinking about getting another one, but went with a Bark River Highland Special instead.

Sarge,

Make that a whisky or a Jack Daniels and you're on ;) .

Better get my ass in gear. Got to go and post an AK to Steve :) .
