I have 4 Himilayan imports, and the Tora is much nicer in fit and finish..the handle is correct to old kuks also..while HI has large and fat handles..which I dont find very comfortable usually.
Dont get me wrong, I love my HI, but this Tora is NICE.

"Tora" as in the British company? I don't own a kukri but when I do get round to ordering one it will be through them.

If you look on youtube the owner of the company does very short reviews on the different models.

Yes, I have seen them..I am always drooling over them:D
I dont think they have a model I dont want!

I think its the MKII but I am not 100% on that..its not really that massive, the kuk next to it is a 15" overall. The blade is graceful, but it has powerful snap. Its handle looks big, but its thin from the spine view, so its super comfortable. I freaking love this thing...its AWESOME.:thumbup::thumbup:

I have been told...prayer, begging, stealing, bribing...or, you get really lucky..and find one on the secondary market, like I did. I talked to the owner of the company...they dont make many a year...so its slim pickins...AND, now you have me hunting them down, and man, let me tell you...if I like a blade..I GET MY BLADE.:D:p

I believe Tora are expecting another shipment in from Nepal shortly. I have many from both HI and Tora. Both make excellent kukries but I believe the Tora are more representative of true kukries. HI kukries tend to be overbuilt compared to the Tora kukries and will last forever. As an example, I have a couple of real M43 models from the early 20th century. They both come in at about a 600 grams. The HI replica models are substantially heavier and thicker. As replica models go, Tora is pretty well spot on.

Nice!
Really need to get another Kukri, right now i just have one of those Military Indian made models and Kukri House mini Kukri.
Love Kukris but really don't care for the traditional flared end kukri handles.
Looking into getting one of those KH Max Extremes, nice Kukri with westernized handle shape with guard and pommel.

I have 2 Tora's and really like them both. Mike

What ones do you have? Any pictures? I am trying to decide what model to go after first...I have several that I would feel lucky to get..but I would like to hae one that I am going to target first.

This has been bugging me for quite some time... I have to ask.. What are the two small blades for that come with some of the kuhkri's ??

The ones I've seen are no longer then my pointing finger, and always 2...

They are called Karda, which is the small knife, and Chakma, which is the small sharpening steel. The Karda, if it's a good one, is useful for fine carving tasks, eating and other general light uses. The Chakma, if it's a good one, is used the same way a butcher's steel is.

Its basically the way It came..I bought the Kuk second hand..so I dont know if it came this way...I doubt it did though.
