Torsion spring test

Changed jobs. Now cutting grass but I still get in my 200 cycles a day.
16,000 cycles and going strong.

I am thinking that I may have to oil the pivot soon. Cutting grass all day long my pockets get a lot dirtier. Maybe no oil. Not sure. What do you guys think?

17,000 cycles. No oil. I think that the torsion spring is weakening. Maybe it is just pocket fuzz gumming things up. It seems to open a bit slower (subjective not anything scientific).
If my math is correct the average edc would be 4 cycles per day X 365 days a year= 1,460 cycles per year. 17,000 divided by 1,460 = 11.64 years.

Mine did too after about a year. One miniscule drip of Latama Quick Release oil on each side of the pivot brought it back to life, as new again.

18,000 cycles. No oil but I did blow it out with some canned air. Seems to open with original speed/strength.
Thinking I should do some sort of give a way contest like guess which cycle the torsion spring breaks on (to the nearest 3 digit 1/1000). Don't start guessing yet.

19,000 cycles. This is getting boring. Maybe the dang thing will not break. Maybe my right hand will wear out first.
