Torx driver set

I don't know if there are any around you, but if you have a Menards anywhere close you can get some there. They sell them under the name Masterforce, but they are actually rebranded Pratt-Read. I got a set that i think went from T4 to T10 for around 10 dollars. They are US made and are good quality.

Husky for those on a budget, Wiha for those who can afford it.

Curious thing is, for me, I have 3 sets of Wiha drivers. They are very nice, and quality, but I almost never use them. I have four of the Husky all-in-one drivers (two each of the torx set, and two of the standard slotted/phillips set), and reach for them far more often. The convenience of all the bits stored within the handle is likely what makes the difference. Makes for a much more portable kit as well. Never had any issues with bits not fitting, or breaking, or deforming either, which seems to be a common misconception about the 'inexpensive' nature of the $6 tool. Lifetime replacement warranty as well. :)

Greenlee tools has a security screw driver set that had from the T-4 through T-25 as well as 4 other sets of security bits. It's used primarily for electrical work. It's the best buy for the money, I can't remember if it's made in the US but you can get it at the Home Depot and it sells for 29$. I use it on all of my folders.

I think there's a little misconception happening here. I'm kind of curious how many of the guys with Husky and other low-tier brand bits/drivers who are saying how great they are actually use them much. As a machinist I used mine every day for more than 15 years...it gets pretty easy to see the difference between the brands like Husky and the brands like Wiha. Wihas don't round off. The only time I've ever had a failure with a Wiha was a shattered bit when I applied WAY too much torque trying to break loose a seized bolt. They are definitely using better steel heat treated to a higher hardness than the lower-tier brands. For guys who use their tools once in a while, skimp if you want to. For people who actually appreciate quality tools, go for the Wihas, Weras, or Felos. In my experience, these are among the best available.

I used to use that one too, and the quality isn't that great at all. While you may associate weight with good quality, the bits are soft and over time the edges of the torx bits will wear down. That's what happened to mine and to replace it, I got wiha torx bits. As everyone has already said, they're great quality. Worth the extra money.

I agree. I rounded the edges on 2 different Husky torx drivers before giving up on them. The second one ruined a screw head on my Endura which subsequently had to be sent back to Spyderco for repair. Very poor quality, but I guess you get what you pay for. I picked up a Wiha set after that and the difference in quality is night and day.

Wiha or Wera, both are phenomenal quality.

These guys own the hex, Torx and simliar markets. German companies. German and Czech made. I have both, love both. Best on the market. Well made and very precise in terms of the size...you 5mm is going to be exactly 5mm not 5ish like the hardware store brands.

Made in China, but well made. Try Advance Auto Parts, Complete set with all size torx plus slots, phillips, etc and driver for $6.
I've been using mine for about three years with no problems.

In my 30+ years experience repairing german printing presses I have never used better hex and torx keys than those made by Bondhus or PB Swiss. I use this style of wrench/bit everyday and the only ones that hold their shape year after year under extreme conditions are these two.

The older ones were better, IMHO. I have used them both (borrowed from co-workers who purchased more recently) and have seen them round off. My own Wihas are older, so I'm not sure if the newer ones might share the same fate. A wonderful effect of the modern bean-counter, I'm sure.
