My "NEW" BM-42S and BM-42 both have a smaller than #10 fot the blade to handle screw. I believe it's a #8 (it works) but maybe it's a #9 which I do not have in the Benchmade Torx set.
The Latch is the same at a #6.
I wonder why the change? Any one here know why they changed the screw size?
Actually, TORX is a trademark of another company so more specifically it is supposed to be called a star-drive. Anyways, I wouldn't see why they would change their pivot head size. Are you sure its a 10 for the pivot? On mine, its definetely not a 10 but something smaller. A 6 works for the latch however. Maybe you mistakened the 10 for regular BM folder pivots.
Yup. A new one just arrived today and, sure enough, my trust T-10 is to big. Unfortunately, my fancy set doesn't have a smaller driver, so I don't know what the new size is.
That's an interesting thing to make a note of as it may be a way to date 42s in the future.
