total fake?

The Cigar Box Classic set has the "Schrade+ U.S.A. L.T.D" tang stamp.
All my 2003 and 2004 knives all have the same tang stamp, even the ACB Blue bone knives.
Schrade use the N.Y. tang stamp on the Red Bone set, in the mid 1980's
Mr. Taylor has used that Walden tang stamp since 2004.

I do not have a knife in my collection with a Walden tang stamp, that was not made by Schrade, in Walden.

Here is a Schrade Walden Cigar Box Clasic knife that has the same handles and Schrade Walden tang stamp. It might be noted the blue bone series was a 100th Aniversary Schrade Classic, not a Schrade Walden Cigar Box Classic, though the Blue Bone knives did show in a similar cigar box in the flyer, but I don't recall ever seeing one with a box in the wild. The knife in the auction I am showing is not a Taylor release. It came from Ellenville, not Walden. I am not deal spotting, just providing support to the discussion.

I do also know that Taylor has released some Cigar Box knives with Schrade Walden stamps, but I do not believe the one TR posted is one of them, especially since it is unfinished. I think the unfinished knives generally come from Schrade in the 2003 to 2004 time frame.

"Each knife features a genuine Schrade Walden tang stamp!"
A notable quote from the Schrade flyer that thawk linked in his post.
As with all of these discussions, because of Taylor's efforts to copy old Schrades and intentionally fool people, identification always comes down to what we can prove Schrade did make and construction of the knife in question. I have had my share of confusion and even purchased a couple of Taylors in the past because I was fooled. But I have learned to identify CBC and unfinished CBC knives and have even learned about knives that I previously didn't know about before. Like the 34OT 25th Silver Anniversary which also has a Schrade Walden tang stamp. My money is on tongueriver's knife being an unfinished 2003 CBC muskrat. I have seen Taylors with a similar type of bone handles, but never in booger green in the same manner as Schrade did it and never unfinished without a shield. Sometimes a comparison of the two tang stamps will show a marked difference in the font and spacing of the lines in the stamp too.

This is the flyer: showing the Walden tang stamp.

This is a green Cigar Box Classic.
The SS stamp on the bolster, would suggest it did not make production like the ACB Blue bone knives.

I wish you had said something before when I asked about that knife and mentioned that I had not ever seen one and wondered if they ever left the factory. Is this a newer purchase? At any rate, that stock picture from the Schrade website archives, that I provided, of the knife is the only one I have ever seen. Can you post one of your knife, please. It is also the only CBC that I know of that has that tang stamp. Mystery knife. We went over this before along with the model designation contradiction on the website.

Starting on page 30 and spilling over onto page 31.

This one is on ebay, for sale now. No shield.

The "January 2004 Dealer Price List" has a "TXR4" Texas Ranger knife, it also looks much the same knife.
It had a Texas Ranger badge and no shield.

The 2003 Price List shows the Old Timer Classic was still being sold.
Parts from the 2004 sale, are still being sold by the box.
A knife maker could make a 1973-2004 knife with mixed parts.

Guess I'm blocked from posting on the latest schrade thread? Nice!

Just came across this today. Total Fake! On another note: I can only see 1 page on the Schrade thread. What happened to the rest of them?

Yup, total fake. Looks reminiscent of the really cheap Pakistan made knives.
FWIW, I can see two pages now?
