How about "brets-ftw" run a poll for September like he did for August. That will bet a better indicator of what it should be. Kinda early (mid-August) to be determining September's knife but Hey!! what the heck do I know.

I think I've made the poll for just about every TOTM but one, still have yet to participate. What would the options be? German knife brands? Eye Brand, Boker, Linder, Wustof? I think just a German knife month would be good for Sept.
 
Well guys (and gals) ... thanks for reposting the pic of myself ;)

I didn´t wear these clothes today, just too hot. But I´m glad some of you like it.

Oktoberfest runs from late September til the first Oktoberweekend http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oktoberfest

A Nicker would be nice to carry for this secial event ;)

But I´d like to see a canoe for September... :D

still have yet to participate. Sorry, not following that.
 
If it's German Oktoberfest knife month, I'd say just about anything with a cap lifter would be a go :D

These TOTM knife threads always give me a new excuse to try out a new one. :thumbup:

EVvery knife that has been chosen except the peanut. I don't have nor have the funds to attain one. But I
I have been there in spirit. I've been carrying a knife every month, just not the selected one.

Makes for a good excuse for me to finish my half camper :p I think just a German knife or one with a cap llifter will qualify, no need for a poll.

I guess I'm a bit thick this week but are you saying now the knife doesn't have to be German in a "German Oktoberfest Knife Month" but merely have a cap lifter to qualify? In that case, I guess the Traditional 2011 Blade Forums Knife would qualify.

I think a poll is called for. Make the choices clear and the pick for the month clear.
 
It seems clear to me any German knife, style and/or maker if it has a cap lifter its a added bonus. Examples of makers but not limited to: Boker, German Bull, Hartkopf, Hen & Rooster, Hubertus, Linder, Mercator, Puma, J.A. Henckels, etc.
 
I'm feeling like carrying an orange-handled knife in October so just ordered a Case Sowbelly in "Harvest Orange". Should be here in time. Love those Sowbellies so October is as good an excuse as any. :D

Anybody have thoughts as to what the next TOTM should be? October Orange anybody? :thumbup:
 
Orange works for me, anything Halloween themed, Is there a pumpkin based knife? I doubt people would want to tote a melon tester around. Maybe just a show of pumkin carving with some whittlers?
 
Maybe we should carry traditional machetes for October; it would match up with Halloween very well :D
 
I don't have any orange ones, but if that's what gets selected, I think I'll try the orange-dyed-sodbuster trick that someone posted recently. :thumbup:

We had a bicycle race (well, more like a beer race with bicycles) a few years ago called Knocked-Over October... maybe we should mandate a knife with a bottle opener? ;)
...could also be handy for Oktoberfest...
 
if things go orange then i happen to have both a machete and a brand new folding knife that would fit. just sayin'
 
I think I have more orange handled knives than any others, though they go by all kinds of different names like "Harvest Gold" (sure looks orange to me), Copperhead bone, Autumn Gold, Pumpkin Patch, etc etc.

I'm set for October! :D
 
Sunfish/Whaler/Toenail. I really need a good reason to get it out of the box. If selected I'll carry it EVERYDAY.
