I'm adding a knife to my collection, but im stuck with having to choose from 3 fixed blades. The Spyderco Ronin 2, Spyderco Reverse and CRKT Clever Girl, also this will be a defensive blade. Which one of the 3 would you choose and why? Please help your advice will be highly appreciated. ...thanks in advance.

I guess I'd go for the Reverse. I'm not big on the SD blade thing, but it seems to me that perhaps the key aspect is to have it on you as frequently as possible and the Reverse looks like it would be easier to do that than either of the other.

I'm not big on a knife for self defense. However, if needed I would pick either of the spyderco knives. I don't want something with a coating. My goal would be to deter someone from attacking (and hoping I don't actually have to use the knife). I want a blade that will glint and be extremely visible in what ever lighting there is. Hopefully seeing your blade clearly will be enough to prevent someone from messing with you. A metallic gleam in in your hand in a poorly lit area should be an excellent warning sign not to mess with you.

On guard! You're about to be accosted by a pack of angry posters about your views on SD. And the glint of a knife attracts these guys, not deter them!

Cue the horde of posts saying, "dude, get a gun."

...anyway, my advice to you would be to try to get your hands on all three to see which feels best in your hands. I feel like that's a pretty big deciding factor. Also, how do you plan on carrying. Sheath options might also be a big factor as well. But going off your list, I'd have to agree with Knifebro. The Ronin 2 is pretty sweet. Also designed by Michael Janich who is well known edged weapons martial arts expert. Search him on YouTube and see some awesome demonstrations and explanations by him. But, yeah. I'd pick the master-less samurai.

Awaiting the arrival of my recently ordered "Clever Girl", I'll report more after trying in practice, I'm looking for that last ditch surprise that leaves a sting and causes immediate release and from what I've seen the clever girl is more that capable, of course you would also want a defensive blade that is capable of more should things go from bad to worse and not being overly skilled in knife combat I would again look for a knife that is less likely to be seen in the darkness of an alleyway, the blade length on the clever girl would allow for more serious wounds if necessary and it's apparent balance point and sleek design coupled with the low weight permit quick undetected thrusts, all this is in an attempt to withdraw from the situation as quickly as possible while hopefully sustaining no injuries, having said this i want to add that at no point in my 63 years have I ever looked for or anticipated a knife fight, the thought alone sickens me but, God forbid, I end up in a scenario such that the knife would be required rest assured I will do what ever it takes to be the combatant that goes home. If you watch the video provided by the creator of the clever girl, Austin McGlaun , you'll see how swift and deadly the knife can be used, he's a huge former soldier yet he is blindingly quick with the knife, it's just a blur of motion and at 4.6 inches in length the blade is able to reach vital organs, can't say the same for the other two.
And last but not the least CRKT donates 10% of each sale to the green beret foundation who in turn use the proceeds to aid returning servicemen with their ptsd treatment expenses as well as any number of things causing problems for our troops that the VA either takes too long or doesn't offer assistance at all, that was a major deciding factor for me.

The name Clever Girl does not carry a negative view of you in a courtroom should you have to use it. Ronin will be used by a prosecutor to try and get you on the 'Rambo' attack.

I wouldn't be totally certain of that. The Jurassic Park/Velociraptor/Disembowelment link isn't gonna be hard to make. And the fact that it's part of a line called Forged by War.
