Tough knives at affordable price

I personally think the Buck 110 and 112 are very tough knives for a great price. I also like the CS 4Max Scout. It's a big knife, but it carries well. These are just my opinion.
 
Authentic kukris from HI or reputable vendors, of both traditional and modern designs. I haven't had a chance to beat the heck out of mine yet but they will hold up for sure
 
All day I beat the crap out of my Reiff (reef) knife F6! 3v knife that is a beast!!! Worth every penny! I have used it almost every day since I have gotten it. I can't recommend it enough

I'll +1 this as I've been very happy with my Kailash Khukuris, and if you choose the cheaper options you can get a lot of handmade knife for really quite a low price — the 11.5" HSI for $98 for example. Of course the downside there is shipping is going to be moderately expensive compared to buying locally, obviously location depending, and you're going to have a wait a month or two, maybe more with current delays. 5160 fits the 'toughness' criteria quite literally. Whether or not a khukuri fits your use case is another question though.

For mass production Mora seems hard to beat in ratio of quality:price. Especially if you buy them used. If I didn't romanticise knives and wanted to spend as little as possible on a tool I'd probably just buy a mora and replace it with another mora when necessary.
 
So, basically you can get everything for under 100€.

Mora Robust - 15€
Glock 71 - 40€
Tramontina - 5€

And folder - SR1 lite for 60€ is as indestructible as it gets for a folder.

And for those who want to spend a bit more for something better - Becker and Ontario would be top choices.

Edit: Also not to forget Terava Jakaripuukko and Skrama which would be a lot more affordable for Europeans.
 
The Stanley FatMax chisel knife is quite a sturdy item especially for $11. I have used one quite abusively at work. I chiseled off the aluminum frame of a window with it 30 inches of 3/32" thick extrusion using a hammer on the spine. It only resulted in dulling and slight edge deformation, easily stoned out in a few minutes.

I'm at work now.....

But it comes in a jug, smells like oranges and is apparently safe.... Works good
I've done a ton of blades with it.
