I'll +1 this as I've been very happy with my Kailash Khukuris, and if you choose the cheaper options you can get a lot of handmade knife for really quite a low price — the 11.5" HSI for $98 for example. Of course the downside there is shipping is going to be moderately expensive compared to buying locally, obviously location depending, and you're going to have a wait a month or two, maybe more with current delays. 5160 fits the 'toughness' criteria quite literally. Whether or not a khukuri fits your use case is another question though.Authentic kukris from HI or reputable vendors, of both traditional and modern designs. I haven't had a chance to beat the heck out of mine yet but they will hold up for sure
