Tough work folder for around $100??

I've used M4 in a Spyderco platform for the last year or so. I've stripped copper wire at work, cut zip ties and even did a little scraping with it. I found the edge to roll or dent, as opposed to chipping out. These dents/rolls were easily straightened out on a diamond steel and quick to bring back a working edge. If you put some time in it, M4 can easily take a high polish for that pushcutting ability.

I really like the CS Recon 1 with a saber grind XHP blade as a work knife. It's a very good, durable design for users. Some folders that are fun to fondle and nice to look at can have a surprising amount of ergonomic or wear issues pop up through moderate use.

Go with something other than that. There are a ton of choices out there.

American Lawman is a downsized Recon 1 IMHO.
Nah you want that extra half inch so you can dig around with the knife in places where you shouldn't :D
+1 for anything Cold Steel. Get XHP while you still can, s35vn is nice as well, but it's not the darkhorse of budget super steels (if that is even a thing)
