Toughest Fixed Blade? Sub 3" blade and sub $50?

Thanks for all the tips fellas!

I like the three main recommends very much (Izula, Enzo and BK14/24), so I'll make them "targets of opportunity," should I find a buy on one.

I really like the price point on that Enzo though!

I am only half kidding . . .
This Opinel No. 12 (that handle is over six inches long). One can put a lot of force into that short blade.

But you said you wanted a fixed blade. That's easy; just add water . . . to the pivot where the knife folds . . . even a couple of drops . . . and the wood will swell up tight and you will have a "fixed blade" for at least a day or two.

AND $17.00

PS: The blade is pretty tough. I deeply ground a gouge all the way across the blade so I could snap off the excess length and I almost couldn't break it even then and the blade was clamped in a bench vise and I had a very large pair of channel locks on it for leverage. Good stuff. Mind blowingly good for the price.

This! 12c27 is just about the toughest SS out there. You can't go wrong with this...

Yessir - great steel, great knife!

You got me, just ordered one of the flat ground blanks. I have some linen micarta slabs lying around, should be cool

Awesome! Can't wait to see the finished product...

Whatever happened to sub $50?

I paid $48 for the Enzo, btw... just gotta know where to look.

Another look at the Enzo in Birch:

And when I find something I really like, I buy at least two, and this one I really like. So I got another one in black Micarta (same $48 price tag):
