Toughest Knife in the world

Thanks, I didn't think so. With propaganda like that on their website it makes me wonder. I would like to see an unbiased review. What about it, Cliff? If someone could donate you a knife, would you review it?

Sure. The thing to consider when you read any claim of performance is "What could not do that?" Without a benchmark to gauge the performance from, it is difficult to judge. Cold Steel used to use the car door stab as an "extreme" test of the points of thier knives, after a bunch of people did this with various knives and reported the results on the foums this ceased to be an impressive test. Comparisons prevent hype.

As an added bonus, according to the website, if you buy
a Trident knife you will be an "operator".
How cool is that!

If they put something out that was a bit longer than 4.5", say even in the 6-7" range, I think they'd have a hit. It's tough to justify that price, especially since there's nothing THAT novel about them. Maybe they need to be handled in person to be truly appreciated.

True, same goes for putting a knife in a crevice to the handle and standing on it. Pretty much any stout knife can perform this feat. Even the cheaper ones.

Yes, larger blades would be more comparable but there would be more chances to break them as well.

I do like the looks of these knives and a large one would be neat to see. I am sure they can make them upon request, but the cost may be quite high.

The price is pretty standard for custom tactical knives, if they actually supported the extreme performance, prying, metal cutting with a warrenty that would be unique.

Whoops, perhaps I didn't catch that they were custom. They definitely have more of a factory-Strider-esque vibe. When I think of custom tactical blades, I think of guys like Darrel Ralph & Walter Brend ;).

I've got two Trident Knives. A TC-01 and a TCFM-02. All are handmade and very very solid knives. All of his knives do have a warranty. Basically, if you have a problem with a Trident knife, you call Maciej on the phone, and he'll fix it however you want it fixed. At least this has been my experience with Trident.

All that said, I'm not great reviewer or anything, but I'll tell you that I love my Trident knives and have done things with them that I wouldn't think about trying with my other high dollar knives. (Split rocks, chopped down small trees, hammered, etc...)

I'm positive that Maciej would answer any questions you've got if you dropped him an e-mail.
