Trace Rinaldi & damascus?

Do you know how the "maker-logo" is made into it?

The logo was put on the polished blade, a resist was placed over the logo, and the blade etched. After cleaning the blade looks just like this one.

Nice etch....what did you use and how did you finish it?? I always have the hardest time getting the contrast like that.
