Great stuff buddy, how do ya like that version of the trap ? I find it easier to increase the sensitivity of that one as well !

When I get chance I'm gonna try and do a short video of how I use the Tracker to make traps.

Thanks , Yes I like this one a lot better than the regular version. When I saw the way the improved one was cut out on the vertical I could see why. This one is a lot

more forgiving than the regular one. Thanks for you help.

Jeff

Well done!!! Took me forever to make a figure four that worked.

Nice knife as well. If they made a version of the Tracker without the saw back I would seriously consider getting one.

Thanks Mistwalker, I tried the regular figure 4 and could not really get it to work so well. Then Pitdog sent me a link to

the improved version and it worked the first time I tried it.

thanks for the kind works and the help.

Thanks! It is supposed to rain all weekend here, but your thread has still given me motivation to build one. Might have to spread out the tarp in the living room...but now I have a whittling project!

Thanks

Glad I could help Unit. let us know how it works out for you. I don't think it makes any difference where

we practice as long as you do.

Jeff

Right on! I will hopefully have some decent updates tomorrow. I am just closing the shop for the week...it has been a long week. Looking forward to some skill building tomorrow.

Edit...I guess I have a serious case of beginner's luck!

I drove home from work and went to the vacant lot out back and tried my hand at this figure 4 thing, and I am thrilled to report success on my first try (I even took a video of my first test of the trap). Perhaps I will share some photos later. What a fantastic way to start my weekend! Thanks again for the motivation to try something new!

Nice work Hawkeye5 !!!

Do you happen to have the link you could share with us that have less sensitive traps :D

I'd be happy to get a PM like that !! :D

For me, the best deadfall trap is the Promontory Peg . Lots of vids on youtube on how simple it is to make. That fig 4 takes to much time cutting and fiddling around. The "peg can be made in seconds with just a sharp rock.
