Thanks , Yes I like this one a lot better than the regular version. When I saw the way the improved one was cut out on the vertical I could see why. This one is a lot
more forgiving than the regular one. Thanks for you help.
Thanks! It is supposed to rain all weekend here, but your thread has still given me motivation to build one. Might have to spread out the tarp in the living room...but now I have a whittling project!
Right on! I will hopefully have some decent updates tomorrow. I am just closing the shop for the week...it has been a long week. Looking forward to some skill building tomorrow.
Edit...I guess I have a serious case of beginner's luck!
I drove home from work and went to the vacant lot out back and tried my hand at this figure 4 thing, and I am thrilled to report success on my first try (I even took a video of my first test of the trap). Perhaps I will share some photos later. What a fantastic way to start my weekend! Thanks again for the motivation to try something new!
For me, the best deadfall trap is the Promontory Peg . Lots of vids on youtube on how simple it is to make. That fig 4 takes to much time cutting and fiddling around. The "peg can be made in seconds with just a sharp rock.
