As you know I like to make primitive class and classic pattern knives, of American and English heritage. As of yet, I have done no European classics. Well, here is my first and possibly only. I found this pattern somewhat difficult and very time consuming but very rewarding when completed.

This Euro Hunter is a very large, heavy duty hunter from a full 1/4 inch 5160 High Carbon. 10 1/4 inches long, with a 5 3/4 inch blade, and 4 1/2 inch handle. Brass Guard, pins, and lanyard liner. Handmade silver shield and raised washers. File-work top and bottom. A heavily tapered tang, with opposite direction taper North Idaho Elk Slab Handles. The blade is finished with a striking mustard finish that resembles cable damascus. The sheath, of course as equally robust, more than adequate to accompany such a knife, with very heavy oak tanned leather, hand stitched and wet-formed to the knife, finished with my triple treatment, greased and waxed outside, oiled inside.

$550 includes sheath. Plus $15 for shipping, handling and insurance.

Thank you,
Bob

Bob,
Can you elaborate a little on the mustard finish? I really like the"cable" effect.

Thanks

I really like this knife. I've created similar blade patina/patterns using ketchup and salad cream (a UK Mayo type dressing). Looks great.
