Good Day,

I am trying to find the sweet spot for you all, here in the For Sale Makers Fixed Blades section...

And in an effort to do that, I am listing my Trail Series...

The whole point of these to offer some useful steel at an affordable price.

In order to do that, I use full grain extra heavy oak tanned leather for the handles. I then bond the handles to the tang and secure them with Copper Harness Rivets. Then the leather handles are stained, sealed w/ drying oil like a gunstock, and finished with multiple coats of wax. This is the same for all the of the knives in this series.

Trail Series Neck Knife

6 3/4 inch overall, 3 1/4 inch blade

Hand-Forged 1/8th inch 1095 High Carbon Steel w/ Blue Gray Finish.

Trail Series Neck Knife w/o sheath $50.

One of my Custom Leather Sheaths is available, additionally. Or, for something a bit more affordable, my apprentice can make you a Custom Concealex Sheath, and you can see his work at http://marioncarry.blogspot.com/. To simplify things, you can purchase his work from me, when you make your purchase of the knife. And there are no extra shipping fees.

Trail Series Camp Knife

Also, I make a handle for this knife, to turn it into a draw knife....

Trail Series Large Heavy Golock or Trail Knife

trail_golock_c_1024.jpg

Hand-Forged 1/4 inch 5160 High Carbon Steel w/ Rounded Spine and Blue Gray Finish.

Additionally, as this is a Large Heavy Knife designed to be used at Full Swing, a extra wedge of leather is added to give the handle a flare at the butt of the knife, to keep it in your hand. You can see that wedge in this comparison image.

Man...I love your knives. The leather handle suits your style to a "T". And the draw knife idea gets my vote for the most inventive idea of 2010!!!

Bob, I really like these. Your work is always worth a look!

Hello Bob,

Like the knives alot. Very practical and nice looking. I have a suggestion for you regarding the drawknife combo. I used to make long bows, particuarly out of osage and would use a drawknife as part of the process. If you went to some of the Traditional or Primitive bowmaking sites I think this knife would go over well there. Just a thought.

Thank you very much for the suggestion. Off the top of you head, is there one in particular you would suggest?

Sincerely,
Bob
