Tracking problem on Delta 1x42

Hey guys, I have a Delta SA180 (1x42) and one of my stock wheels exploded the other day so I ordered some aluminum wheels to replace them (and a new beefy platen). Anyway, after getting the wheels aligned I cannot for the life of me get it to track correctly, no matter what I do it runs about 1/4" to the left (see pic). I have tried a couple layers of electrical tape on the top (crowned) wheel, moving the wheel in and out... Nothing. Anybody able to shed some light on my situation?

Thanks guys!

I am fairly certain that the tracking wheel has to have a crown.
from the picture, it looks to be machined flat.
you may try putting some shim stock between the tracking bolt housing and the main housing?

The threaded rod actually has quite a bit more thread to go, the shaft is hitting the top of the cutout in the frame that it passes through. The tracking wheel does have a crown to it. Thanks for the reply!

I have one of these machines and the tracking sucks at best.
loosen the allen bolt, put some shim stock (something approx .050 thick) between the plate that shaft runs through and the main housing at the the top and tighten the allen bolt. You may need to play with the thickness of shim. I had the same problem with my machine.
where did you find the aluminum wheels?

I got the aluminum wheels from a guy off of knifedogs who hated the plastic wheels and made some aluminum replacements. Quite a few people have bought wheels from him and he was highly recommended. He's a busy guy and has been helping me try to figure it out, just trying to see if somebody else had any pointers...

THANK YOU! I never would have thought of that in a million years - 4 layers of aluminum sheet (same thickness as aluminum for pop cans) and it runs perfect! I really can't say thank you enough, I probably spent 8 hours trying different things with absolutely no progress.

Thanks again!
