Trad archery gear for a newbie

Raindog - the CTAS (Colorado Traditional Archers Society)shoot is June 27, 28, 29. Here is a link: http://www.colotradarchers.com/index.html

Don't worry about being ready to shoot, just grab your gear and shoot. We camp in the national forest, its the first exit west of Glenwood and then a long slow drive to the camp site. There are a bunch of 3D ranges as well as static targets. If I go, we can make plans to meet. If you want, I will give you a lesson (I am a NFAA intermediate instructor)

Rocky Mountain Specialty Gear is in Arvada. Here is a link:

They usually have a vendor tent at the CTAS shoot. I hang out there with the guys. The can help you with any kind of arrow, bow or knife you want.

Close by is Golden High Country Archers, one of the best 3D clubs in the state. Here is a link:

Thanks for the links. I'd love to go to the shoot, but one problem is I work weekends. So I'll have to make some advance arrangements, but I think it can be done. As the time gets closer, I'll get in touch and let you know my deal. Glenwood is only about 1 hr, 15 minutes from me, so it's easy to get to, even if it's just for a day.

Raindog,

Great, I hope to see you there. If I remember correctly, the shoot starts on Fri. Also, some people volunteer to set up the 3D targets on Thurs (I think) and they get lunch as well as first shots.

CTAS is a great organization and it is based in the Western Slope. There are a lot of good archers who will help you. Look me up the next time you are in Denver. You can send me an e-mail at M B Tull AT yahoo. Close up the spaces, use @ for AT and add com after yahoo.

Yep, they (CTAS that is) seem to be headquartered out of the town I live in, Grand Junction. I might just come out on Thursday, I have that day off and have to work F-Su typically. And I'll keep you posted as the time gets nearer, and def look you up next time in Denver.
