Just wanted to see what kind of traditonal knives other folks where using as part of thier edc rotation...I'm new to this trad area but my current rotation consists of a buck cadet (303) an opinel #6 and #7 a medium sized okapi, and a vic farmer (don't know if the vic classifies as traditional) currently I've been favoring the opinels but I have some new pieces on the way which I'm sure will make it quickly to the top.

Here's my rotation in traditionals:

medium douk douk
opinel # 7
queen dogleg jack in birdseye maple
vic soldier
voss cutlery congress
case med. stockman

Love em all!

Thanks

just used this pic in the 'puukko' thread, but these are my traditional edc's. i tend to carry the puukkos more in the winter. never had a problem with open carry. the little caper was made by my father: ebony/ivory/purpleheart/damscus. the S&M English Jack sees 'office knife' duty.

The most frequents are my Buck 373 (Cadet sized value line stockman) and Wenger SI. An Opinel Number 6 makes its way into the line up, a Vic Spartan used to be the line up- it still gets carried sometimes. I sometimes will go with the 340T (carbon, late NY model). And of course, there is more than a few other babies that see pocket time here and there as well.

I've been edcing a Case amber bone peanut at work because it's very pocket friendly in dress pants. There's also a multitool in my bag. When I'm not at work, it's a Vic Spirit multitool on my belt - sometimes alone and sometimes paired with the peanut or Mini Canadian.

I'm currently infatuated with the Queen Gunstock and Mountain Man. These would never make it as a work edc for me but maybe on the weekends . . .

These three are the ones that I carry the most often. Others include a Queen amber bone gunstock, Queen teardrop with ebony scales, Case chestnut bone small stockman, Kissing Crane buffalo horn stockman and canoe, various Eye Brand slippies, etc, etc.

Case Yellow handled , CV blade : Barehead Slimline Trapper or Peanut are my EDCs with a SAK Classic SD .

I cannot find my YH CV Stockman, or my Hen & Rooster, and Bokers with Carbon blades. [I think they are gone for good *sad*]

Oh I had a SAK Bantam for my truck, which I sometimes carried on pocket, but I gave that away to a Army family traveling through, seems TSA kept his, and I could not have this family travel w/o a knife...

Queen small stockman in red delrin in a leather pouch on my belt
Queen Utility knife is stuck in my front pocket.

Sabbath
Hen and Rooster very small red picked bone stockman

I've mostly been carrying some flavor of Case medium stockman over the last year or so. I'll carry other knives for a week or two, but I keep coming back to the 6318; it seems to be about the perfect pocketknife for me. My current EDC has amber bone scales and CV blades.

Usually one of the following.

SAK Super Tinker with mystery wood scales.
Schrade Bearhead 960 or 940.
Tidioute SARPNT
Northfield Scout
Case Seahorse.
Fox N Hound stag lockback.

Usually my SAK Super Tinker, but rotated occassionally with:
Vic Cadet
Wenger SI
Case yellow handled CV Sodbuster Jr.
Case Bonestag SS Peanut
Boker "American Spirit" series large Stockman in Carbon

I normally carry one of the following:

Case redbone USA era mini trapper.
Case redbone 1973 6347 pen blade stockman
Case redbone 1975 06247PEN
Case Redbone 1975 6292
Moore Maker stag handle trapper
Kissing Cranes comp handle Trapper
And I just added a Bulldog Cowboy's Pet stag stockman from the 1980's which is what I am carrying today.

My edc has been a bit narrowed down these days. I took my dad's old peanut and granddad's Hen and Rooster out of edc service and put them away for handing down At this point they have become family heirlooms that if I lost one or something happened, I'd feel like shooting myself. The next generation can have the eresponcibility.

My edc now is the old Buck 303 cadet, Victorinox cadet II, Wenger SI, a couple different size Opinels, and a newer Hen and Rooster from the 70's that is a half stockman in carbon with stag. Usually there will be one opinel with one of the others since I always carry two pocket knives teamed up. Like a sak and an Opy.

I've always loved those Opinels since I got the first one back in 1982. I've got from a number 6 through a number 12, and they all take turns.

All of my knives are EDC.

Pocket carry:
1-Doctor's knife (single blade)
3-Stockman (med. and large)
1-Texas toothpick(small)
2-Peanuts
4-Copperheads
1-SAK Mechanic (always on Keychain)
1-Barlow
1-Harness Jack
1-Sunfish
1-Congress
1-Electrician's knife
1-Texas Jack(med)
1- Spyderco Full Size Manix(I know it's not traditional)

On my boat:
1-SAK Rambler
1-Spyderco Pacific Salt (I know it's not traditional)
1- Dexter Russell Fillet

I change my knife carry almost daily.

Yesterday I carried a 440C Boker stag handled stockman, today I'm going on a nice horse ride in the country with my girlfriend so I'm carrying my Case green bone canoe (a mean sandwich splitter and peanut butter spreader!).

Tomorrow I'm going to carry my Case peanut.

I have a large Queen congress knife that seems to be the one I pick up lately.

I recon I may be a little different than some of you as I am rotating my EDC slipjoint a lot less often. I stick with something for a good month of two before I put it up for some other knife to use. Although I must confess to always having some sort of fine quality fixed blade in my pickup truck. This old Trapper has been on me every day now for a while. Traded this one for some .38 wad-cutter shells a long time ago..

My main carrying pocket knives for the last few years is any one of these,
Vic Cadet
Queen stockman
Russell barlow
Others do make it in but those 3 are the main carry.
