I posted a knife i wanted to trade got an offer for what I wanted. Yesterday I shipped my half . Sent the person i agreed to trade with a email with a tracking number . I haven't heard a word back from them since confirming they shipped . This person has a perfect feedback score and double the feedback i have. My question is if I don't hear back from them by tomorrow I was going to have my package stopped and sent back . It's out for delivery Thursday am I doing the right thing here, this has never happened to me before where i get no replies at all. If i let this package get delivered i will be out of luck .

If it's a long time member with good history I would give them a little more time before rescinding the shipment if that's what you really feel is the necessary course if action. I can't tell you to ignore your gut feeling. It's not unusual if there is a delay in communication watch an see if you see his account active cruising the forums if you think you might be getting ignored

First off, I know this is nerve racking. I've done deals with long standing folks with great feedback who dont communicate a lot during the transaction. I attribute it to they work, do other things than surf the web, don't have a smart phone, check the forum or email infrequently, etc...
I am the opposite. I have an iPhone and look at the forum and email often, sometimes even at work.
As to what you should do I cannot say. If it were me I'd make another attempt at contact before stopping anything. Chances are it will work out. Also if money was exchanged through paypal as part of the deal check there for a tracking number. For example, Kershawguy a great seller and forum supporter, doesn't typically reply during store transactions unless there is a problem. I always look at my paypal transaction and the tracking number is always there. I figure he's too busy between a day job and selling knives on the side. I do business with him frequently. At first it was a bit disconcerting but once I understood how he does things it's fine.
Good luck and I hope it works out for both of you.

I am more than willing to wait a while don't think there ignoring me hasnt been logged on since the day we made the trade . I have no idea whats going on hope nothing has happened i will send them a email before i stop the shipment of course.

If he's got great feedback you should be fine. I sometimes forget to email the tracking # off right away, but I make darn sure the knife gets shipped ASAP. Your trader may be the same way.

So I'll just eat some crow as somehow I got totally messed up on this one.

Has it even been a full day yet in between emails?

That is a good enough reason to chill out a bit and wait. Even though a lot of people have smart phones, email, computers, whatever that doesn't mean they sit on them all day long. I know plenty of people that disconnect completely and spend time with their family or other things.

I completely understand your concern and can't blame you for being worried. If the member has been around and has a lot of good feedback chances are thing's will be ok. I sincerely hope they will anyway.

Sometimes thing's just happen and communication isn't what we'd hope it is. Drives me crazy too. In the few trades, sales and such I've been involved in I go out of my way to keep the other person informed. Unfortunately not everyone is like that.

For what its worth I bought a knife once on another forum. After I made payment I never heard from the seller again until my package showed up. No DC#, I shipped it e-mail, nothing. For a week I though I had just been scammed. Turns out he had forgotten to ship it on the day promised (A Friday) felt so bad about it he even included an extra knife in the box to make up for the delay but on the down side never sent me an e-mail to let me know what was going on.

when I did finally hear from him I thanked him for the extra knife, told him that was nice but not necessary and I would have much preferred an e-mail just letting me know what's going on. But in the end it worked out very well and I would do business with him again.

Anyway, I really hope everything works out for you. Few thing's bother me more then when I hear or read about a member here getting burned.

I think you will be fine.I just looked and he has a solid rep.

We just had a major non issue last week that got blown all I outta proportion because a thread was started in the GB&U before the weekend had finished and the knife showed up on Monday, be patient and save all your correspondence so you can show the timeline.

I wish ya a lot of luck.

Gonna take everybodys advise [ Was the only reason i posted this ] And before this gets outta hand gonna close this i will post the results as soon as i find out what's going on . Thanks
