This is a traditionally styled trade axe. It was originally( a good while back) made for a guy who wanted a heavy duty traditional looking trade axe to carry. Something that can quarter deer and split wood if need be. Its made the way he wanted it but like sometimes happens once its done I never heard from him again so here it is. Its made from 1065 in the wrap&weld style. It was made from two pieces. The wrapped piece and then a full length bit of 1065 that goes all the way back to the eye. Thats why its so thick and heavy duty. The cutting edge is appx. 3" wide and the head is appx. 5 5/8" long. It has a forged finish and is forge blackened. It has a hickory haft, stained and oiled with boiled linseed oil. It has a simple edge protector made from heavy 8oz leather. Held together with copper rivets.
Price is $40 plus $10 shipping. I think this is dang cheap for a hand forged piece but since it was made to someone elses specs Im letting go cheap. We accept paypal and money orders. Our email address is phllpwest@bellsouth.net
Thanks for looking..

I would have jumped on it too, if I had seen it first. Looks like an interesting mix between an axe and an hawk.
