This is a forged trade axe made like the original "Hudson Bay" trade axe.Rounded cutting face and belly..Head is appx 5 1/4" long with a 2 3/4" wide cutting edge..Wrap & weld construction, made from a good quaility farriers rasp(appx. 1095 steel) Rasp was wrapped, folded in on itself and then welded up..Very sharp, some light filework on the spine..
The haft is hickory, stained and fisnished with boiled linseed oil..
Just brought this one home from a craft festival and its priced to move...
