Just a question, why is Trade only showing up as a moderator on the Ka-Bar forum?

I applaud Trade's promotion, for several reasons. He clearly loves and understands cutting tools of all sorts, he has a boatload of experience with them and is always open to learning more, he's extremely welcoming to newbies and old salts alike, he's a genuinely friendly and warm-hearted guy, and he is not afraid to lay down some truth and reality when need be. He's also generous to a fault and funny as a clown on ice-skates, quick with a smile or an altruism or a smart-alec comment, and a genuine pleasure to hang around a campfire with. I have nothing but love and respect for Trade and Mrs. Trade.

Now then... let's get a couple things clear about this "mod" thing...

Ya cain't get too excited just because a person's name shows up red, necessarily... heck, me and Todd are "mods"... sort of. Even Murph is! :eek: ;)

I think it's fair for me to speak for them when I explain: Spark helped us set up our own subforums and gave us "mod status" because he likes to have individual knifemakers generating interest in our field, and he chooses to help us show what we do and why we do it on the single-most active and far-reaching knife forum on the planet. I can't even tell you how incredibly helpful that is to us custom/handmade guys. :thumbup:

But... for long-standing, historically-important entities like Ka-Bar and Ethan Becker to extend that honor and responsibility and trust to folks like Trade and Derek (along with the other mods here), it's a little bit different. For Ka-Bar and BK&T to choose these cats to help represent a philosophy of quality and craftsmanship that already spans decades... that truly says something rather impressive about their history of dedication to a much wider community. Many are called, few are chosen.

Congratulations, you've earned it :)

Dont let Trade fool you. He threw a Rattler at Official Kabar, and witheld anti venom till they made him a mod...lol
