I have a question. please help. I won a auction and I got 3 knifes out of it. 1 of them is a brand new buck and I wanted to trade if. a person email me direct and offered a folding K-Bar knife in a even trade. I offered to ship first an then if he didn't like it he could just ship it back to me or ship me his. he has not emailed me his address. is this a flag??

When I get emails direct, and have no BladeForums name attached, I ignore it. If they mention their BladeForum name, I check them out a bit before sending anything. It's served me well, and I've not had a bad deal in the 14 years I've been here.

He may have just lost interest. After selling more than 100 knives here on BF I have found there are a few people who don't have a considerate bone in their bodies, and just leave you flapping in the wind. This is the exception of course, 99% of people here on BF are great, but there are always a few.

Since you haven't shipped anything yet, send the other party a courtesy email giving them 24-48 hours to get in touch with you, and if no contact, move on. No loss for you.

well I just check his profile and the has a feed back of 3 pos. but I am going to email him before I go to bed and give him 24 hours to email me on what he wants to do. thank you for all of your help.

Daniel, thank you for this post. It's exactly the route that everyone should take when conducting any deals on here with unknown parties.
