Trade or Not?

I have my Civilian and I'm thinking about getting rid of it for a Yojimbo. What do you think would be a better knife to carry as a back-up? Which is more comfortable (not that it matters with the Civilian---no utility there), which carries better, etc.? Thanks. :)

I've handled both and I prefer the Yojimbo: faster action, utility possibilities, and better ergos. The wharny blade is probably a bit more sheeple friendly;) .
And besides why trade it when you can get a Blue Yojimbo for less than 100 bucks.

I say keep or sell the Civilian for profit.

I have the same problem with the Civilian as I have with the Police - the blade is over the 4.000" legal limit for carry here. Why carry a self defense knife that you can be arrested for having on you, let alone using for its intended purpose? I would prefer the Yojo myself just for the practical utility aspect, but that is me, not you.

I also keep all my knives, whether I carry them or not. I'd say keep the Civvie and buy a Yojo to keep it company :D

I have had both and prefer the stabbing option in SD applications. The Yojimbo is also nice because it has utility applications as well as being a SUPERIOR slicer IMHO.

I agree with you whole-heartedly about the Yojimbo Wali but you should really give the Captain model a try if it is the SLASHING factor you are looking for in a blade. This Captain is truly capable of a much deeper slash than the Yojimbo.

And keep in mind I am a fan of the Yojimbo and have 2 of them. I also have a Ronin as well and plan on keeping both of you. But if I was Steelscout I would keep both of them. They are both great knives>>

Hey There JD! I have to give the Captain a try. I can't wait to see the Dr. Snubnose meat test on the Captain and the Street Beat.
