Hi,

You didn't mention the Forumites forumname for which I comment you :) as long as the other party hasn't replied in a timely fashion.
I just hope it isn't a deal with the same guy we're having problems with from Conway, AR with the "fishy" lastname  .

It looks like he tried the same tricks with an fellow forumite just a few days ago.

Best Scouting wishes from Holland,

Bagheera

Jimmy, you came on this forum and told us all you were going to make good on this deal. It looks like you have not followed through with that promise. You got all indignant, feeling you had been wronged by all those that said you did not seem to be on the up and up. Now you are proving it yourself.

Do the right thing or stay the heck away from trying to do any knife deals on this forum or any other that I frequent, because I will take every oportunity to let everyone know what you did here. This is something I do not take lightly, ask Mike White. You two seem to do business the same way.

While YOU all Stood around and waited, I am so GLAD I posted I would just SIT.......wolf:(

Right about now, I am just ready to explode in rhetorical dialect that will just mirror my FINAL post to Mikey White. but, WTF, you are all GREAT folks and as I say ALL the time, YOU GUYS do take care of us Honest Newbies and people who cyber "hand-shake" and then KEEP THEIR WORD. Integrity....Right Jimmy?

recieved the two knives he promised me for my troubles
today.but still haven't seen anything of my knives i
sent in trade.

Well at least you got those two. Hopefully the others are on the way. Didn't Jimmy say that he refused the shipment when it was delivered to him? That would mean that your knives would have left on their way back to you long before the ones he sent to you. So either he never refused them in the first place or someone from the Postal system has some nice knives right now.

Sorry for the late reply/post. I just read about this thread on another(thanks Keith & Wolfman). I have not looked in GBU since my last post here, as I figured this was dealt with.
Yiterp, I'm glad you got the two knives, and hope they were up to snuff. I'm sincerely stunned hearing that the others have not arrived, and truly hope they show up soon. Given the f*** ups so far in this deal, it would be way too much of a coincidence for them to be "lost by the post office" and I do not believe that it's a possibility. I do know that the package you sent had been opened by customs, and maybe this indicates it would be re-opened going back. I don't know. But, the original package was sent by you around Sept 3-4, and took a month to get here. When they were refused, the post office had several new parcel restrictions imposed since Sept 11. I hope that this is the reason for the delay. For those of you who don't know, mail can take forever to get here from "down south", especially across a border, and the same goes for outgoing parcels. We are a small fly-in community, in the middle of the remote north, and mail/freight gets bumped for passengers and weather all the time. That said, I ordered a knife from Ontario on Monday this week and received it Thursday, so I don't really understand why some packages take forever and some don't.
I will finish this off by saying, I do not have your knives and have no intention of screwing anyone. This is an unfortunate situation, that will hopefully rectify itself in the days to come.

Please post when your knives arrive so people don't think I stole your property.

Jet

To some extent, I just have to wait and see. I am trying to do a formite a favor. He lives on another Continent. All I wanted to do, all he asked me to do was get him some Talonite and ship it to him. Well, with some of the "new" International restrictions, each package being shipped BEST weigh exactly what ya say it does, MUST be what you declare it to be, there is a major back-log, Sh*T, major log-Jam in sending or getting anything that has gotta go thru CUSTOMS (Why do they call it Customs????)Well, I have faced the BEAST!!!! What is Talonite, IS IT A WEAPONS GRADE M-E-T-A-L (metal????)So you wanna ship it to a Custom Knife maker to make a paring knife, a File? Oh BULLSH*T, Sorry sir, I sneezed.
So Jet, maybe you are doing the Right thing and in FACT are fighting the BEAST(s), BOTH US and canadian Customs, who open, inspect, and reseal and then OPEN, INSPECT, reseal. And yup, by the time it arrives it just might be XMAS!!!!! How DO YOU ship Talonite Thru Customs?????????KNIVES also
wolf:( ;)

I have seen some reference to a sour deal with a fellow who uses 007 as a handle - is this Mike the person on this thread.
He is trying to buy some mt's from me and would like some feedback i cant find any on any of the other forums:confused:
thanks DAVE

Hey Guys...

When it comes to dealing with Customs of any type, you'd be Well advised to do EVERYTHING on the up and up...

I deal with these boys on a regular, umm daily basis,, and if everything is handled By The Book, done honestly and correctly you won't have a problem at all..
They aren't evil, nor are they thieves..They are just guys like us doing their job...Sometimes they screw up,or can be Pricks,, but so can everyone..

The one time I've had to deal with them over the phone,,they were Nothing short of helpful, respectful and understanding..But once something is filed,,the gears turn very slow there,,and no one person can get you out of Any red tape..

So you must Always declare things properly,,using the right words...

As far a shipping Talonite goes,, you mark the Dec slip "Steel Bar" or "Tool Steel" Exactly what it is..You won't have a problem...

ttyle

Eric...
