OK here is my concept: easy to make, affordable, usable designs, and contructed of tough materials. They are in my mind reminicent of the old trade knives of the Mt Man era :) I used 5160 for the blades and thin G10 scales attached with copper harness rivits. Both knives are flat saber ground and beveled on both sides. I used my same old differential heat treat as I use on all my 5160 blades. I used to play with throwing knives that used this style construction and it held up great so I figured it would work for some user grade cutlery. Price for either knife with Kydex sheath(you supply the Tek Lok) is $150***BOTH ARE SOLD***(Paypal or USPS MO) shipped in CONUS.

1st up is the orange G10 1. It is 12 1/8in overall with a 7 3/8 blade tip to handle. The 5160 blade is 1/4in thick. I left the mill scale on the flats for some character :)

2nd up is maroon/black G10 over 5/16in thick 5160. Overall it is 10 5/8in with a 5 7/8in blade tip to handle.

Great concept. You could take it another level up with screws fixing the scales (Ala Ek Commando) and place holes in the tang for lashing.
Nice knives!

I think the knives are fine just the way they are. Bare bones and no nonsense.

Love the blades don't care too much for the handles and the rivets I have been looking for something very much like the the orange handled one.

I camp oriented a decent amount. anywhere from 10 to 20 nights a year and I use knives for light chopping and batoning. I work with scouts and a knife for batoning is much safer than them swinging an axe. these look great for that. I love the ranger line and yard guard from busse scrap yard. these knives look like better alternatives for me. hopefully they will have better edge retention than s7 and they will be stronger than the ranger line. I really like the recon scout thickness for batoning but I hate the swedge. these may be perfect. I will let every one know. I am camping this weekend so these may come along if they are here. otherwise I will carry another knife.

I have tested more Bill Siegle knives than just about anyone --and you will not be disappointed with edge retention or toughness!!!!

Not to mention Bill is an EXCELLENT man to deal with too..

Let us know what you think when you test them

Sincerely

Dr.Bill

I only used these to slice paper so far. very sharp
I did take my siegle martindale and do some chopping. it is comfortable and worked great. afterwards I sliced paper and a buddy commented how sharp it is.
