For sale is this apparently rare Benchmade 9050....note NO safety.
Recently contacted BM customer service, and according to the dude on the phone (Jason, Justin?) what I have is a "very rare generation 1.5 or 2 AFO 9050 that was produced during the early development years of the AFO".
Before I even sent pics, he asked me if it had a pocket clip and if it was a blueish/gray color. This after I told him it did NOT have a safety switch/lever.
He told me to put it back in the box and stick it in the safe....."it is very rare, and worth NORTH of $500."......those were his exact words.
I don't have a safe, and I have no use for safe queens, so I'm putting this up for sale, someone out there must collect older BM's, eh?
It is sharper than sharp. Condition is very excellent, as you can see in pics. I did add one ~1/2" scratch to the finish, near the pivot, just after I took pics (rubbed against another of my knives when I put it in my "knife box", otherwise just gorgeous. Box included, no idea if it's original to this knife, but it's the box that I got with it. No papers in the box, all I have is the knife and box....box has NO markings, labels, etc.
Snaps open with STRONG recoil, locks up solidly with very little blade play (compared to my OTF auto from a big manufacturer).
