Like the title says I'm trading a firearm for a small 2011 sebenza 21 I signo tomorrow. I got some low quality pics of knife, box, towel, and birth certificate and to me who has never seen a real sebenza in person it looks real. I have to drive 2 hours each way to meet the guy and the firearm and ammo I'm giving him is worth like $350 so I don't want a fake. I don't know how to post pics on here or else I would. The only thing that seems wired is I asked for pics of the centering and lockup but he only sent me pics of the scale sides of the knives. It does have the concave lanyard pin. It also says Idaho made. The birth certificate is from 2011 and says s30v. Any advice would be appreciated. If there's something I can do to be sure before I make the drive would be great. Oh, the guy said he bought it in a knife shop in Atlanta Georgia I believe. He seems like a stand up guy because we have been talking quite a bit but I don't want to be had. I'm also getting a Emerson mini cqc 15sf for an extra 450 rounds of 9mm ammo.

If you want to email me the pictures I'll post then up for you. Look up fake vs real sebenza on YouTube for a bit more knowledge. There are a few videos on them.

ALWAYS buy the seller not the item.
Does he have any references ie fleabay, craigslist or??

Thanks for the quick responses guys. I'm at work now but I will email u pics when I get a lunch break. It's a local seller. Well kind of. 3 hours away and he's meeting me about half way. I have watched the vids but from the little differences most seem like u'd need a real one side by side to tell and the tell tale ones that should be odvious like the lanyard thing seems right although I have seen some john fakes that also have the concave lanyard pin. The guy seems very nice we have been shooting the $hit via text message for several days. The one thing I did notice is I don't see any insigno blades on Ali right now but is this one that has been faked? Thanks again guys. I will get those pics to suzu as soon as I can and hopefully he can post them so you can all see.

Those pics do indeed suck. In today's world with every cell phone having a camera and the ability to email/text pictures I would request he take 6 or 7 pictures of it that are clear and in focus and have him text them to you. Post them here and we can tell you if it is real or not.

I sent suzu like 4 others but either he didn't get a chance to post yet or he didn't get them all. I'm trying to figure that out now. I will see the knife before I seal the deal but I really don't have any experience and would like to avoid the trip all together if it is a fake. I don't really doubt the guy is standup but there's also the risk of him having got one and not even knowing it too Ya know.

This is a valid concern. 2 hours of driving, firearms, ammo, and I would want to be sure it is the real deal myself.

Thanks suzu. These are what I've seen and I talked to him about everything from heath to our philosophy on life and he seems like a nice guy. Ya just can't be to careful these days.

I'm reallyhoping it's real because I'm extremely excited to get a sabenza. I'm also trading 450 rounds of 9mm for a mini emerson cqc 15sf. Both knives are suppose to be brand new. He says he doesn't use his nice knives and is selling them because of health problems. What do you guys think? I think it looks good but I know only what I have seen online

Thanks for all ur help. I hope so. I don't see any insigno clones period for sale now let alone small ones. Has anyone seen a fake one of that particular blade? Maybe they haven't even cloned this one?

If ya decide you don't like the mini 15 let me know I may have something you would be interested in.

Will do cooper. I really was never interested in Emerson's or gave them a good look before he mentioned he had one and would give me a good deal on it. After some research I thought it sounded to good to pass up since I had access to the ammo and wouldn't need it after I got rid of my 9. But if it doesn't do anything for me I will lyk.

Something I didn't notice till now. It's hard to tell from the side view but it looks like the lockup is really late. I hear that's typical with sebz but they typically don't move? I can't wait! I just started getting into knives a month or 2 ago and I will already have a nice little collection for a modest income. Especially after these 2.:-) I'd prefer an umnumzuun but I will be happy. I don't shoot that gun anymore anyways after getting my new 1911

There is nothing on it that stands out as "fake" to me. The pictures are fuzzy, but I give it a "90% sure it is Authentic" rating!

When you receive it make sure and post some quality pics of it.

Thanks guys. I will post pics tomorrow if I can figure that out. I just didn't have time to read into that before work this morning and I wanted to get it up to give people time to check it out and give me feedback. Thanks again Suzuki man! I really appreciate you taking the time to help me out. I'm new to the knife world but am finding these forums very helpful.
