From my mid 20’s until late 30’s I was a mostly 1 knife guy, swapping occasionally for something newer/“better”. The ZT was my primary carry for a few years and was in my pocket when Son #1 was born in March 2015.
By the time Son #2 was born in September 2017 I hadn’t carried a modern folder in well over a year and the Case 47 pattern was in my pocket most of the time.
I guess becoming a father (and turning 40?) has made me slow down and appreciate the traditional patterns that those around me (as well as myself) carried in my youth.
I haven’t missed the “overbuilt” knives at all and find a good thinly ground multi blade slip joint much more useful.
