The design, build, fit and finish is definitely first class, almost custom quality.

Right you are. I'd put the build, fit and finish right there with the Case/Bose annual collabs. And the lockwork is impeccable. Smooth with no play whatsoever, either vertical or lateral. It's solid, and yet doesn't stick at all when disengaging the lock.
Yes. This knife is the WH Spire. WH came first.
As far as dating the BM goes, I think you might have better luck out on the main forum. This sub is pretty focused on the old fashioned knives. Maybe someone will come along, but you might try floating your question out in general if you want a date for the BM.The green benchmade was bought at the Louisville gun show when they had the benchmade booth. I was in the military from 92 to 96 and can’t remember if it was before or after. Any BM people that can date the mini reflex? (No safety)View attachment 1164926
The schrade on top and the mop hubertus was gifts from dad.
The black ludt and protech were gifts from a friend when wife #1 decimated collection
I purchased two of these boker autos while walking around jebel ali (UAE) in 95. Gave one to dad which he promptly gave away haha.
Can't beat a Rat II for price and quality. My first pocket/edc knife was the Ontario Rat 2 almost 3 years ago.
It was to be my only knife LOL.
I did not even know it myself that I would want/need many more, as of today 25
My second knife soon followed, a Buck 110. It was my birthday so I thought I deserved it and bought it at my local Canadian Tire store. That Buck is responsible for getting me into traditionals.
The Ram is my last one ( so far)
