Traditional and Modern pairings

This was my carry for the day, it's a Large 21 Micarta, GEC #68 and O-light S10:

Is seems like lately its some combo of GEC (68, 72, 73, 99) & modern folder like a CRK or VECP. On the weekends I'll usually carry bigger, like a #23 with an XM24 or SMF.

Beautiful knives, but may I ask where you acquired your beads from? I really like the looks of them.

Hello!

Thank you, Gary! Cool shot yourself! :)

I did go at least partially traditional today with this set:

And in my Rucksack, there was the tiny Marttiini:

Here's my pairing today. Davison and hinderer. Notice which one typed out first....

Here are a couple of knives that I really like, but through no fault of their own do not get carried very much.

The William Henry is a lockback, but with a couple of modern touches (i.e., thumbstud and pocket clip).

I've got one of those WH Spires in red bone, Christian. It's a nice little knife that I tend to forget about.

Here's a WH Rio in Ironwood Burl and ZDP-189 Wave Damascus along with a little Ohta. These find their way into my pockets on more dressy occasions.

I agree Gary. It's a really nice knife. My finest production knife, apart from my Sebenza. I don't own any Case/Bose collabs, but from what I see this little gem is on par in quality.

I don't know how they did it. From what I know of manufacturing methods, making a lockback is no easier than making a slipjoint. Yet this piece is as close to perfect as they come in production knives. To offer this sort of quality, at the price point they sold for, they must have a secret that I hope other companies discover. I would be ecstatic if I found a production slipjoint of this caliber.

BTW I am quite jealous of your red bone Spire. That's the one I really wanted, but I took a little too long in pulling the trigger.

Can I ask you one thing? Can you make the call on whether the Spire fits the definition of "traditional?" Lockbacks usually are, but I don't know if the thumbstud and pocket clip make this one a non-starter. Thanks.

Love that William Henry! I've never seen that one before.

I think I'd have to put it in the non traditional category because of the thumstud and pocket clip.
The Spire was made by Moki I believe. That mark with the WH in a globe was used to indicate that the knife was not made by WH.

Thanks again. I'm pretty sure the Spire is made by Moki. A.G. Russell now owns the rights to the design.

Cant remember if I have posted these two together. Des Horn Imvubu and JD Ellis traditional.

Thought I'd pop this one in here. At first glance they look like two traditionals, however the one on the left has a double liner lock and thumb studs. It's called a double cross by Kershaw, comes with one clip and one dinky wharncliffe in dams-steel V1. Such a great little knife, beautifully made in Japan with a traditional finish. Pakka wood covers, all pinned. If you like whittling. It's a must:)

Two different knives, same purpose. Boker/Krein pocket bowie and Enzo necker with birch scales and leather sheath. The Enzo is an exceptionally well made knife for the price. Only thing I am going to change is that I am going to add a bit more radius to the edges of the handle.
