  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Traditional and Modern pairings

If Ebony was my choice to EDC on any given day I usually pair by use, shop, dress or other and not by color.
I rarely carry 2 traditional at the same time it would be paired with a locking folder or fixed blade.
Here's a few random pics showing a couple HJs and CK warhorse, I know some don't consider the CK traditional but this is one heck of a knife.

Just stumbled on this thread and I'm genuinely curious... What is the function of carrying a modern and a traditional at the same time? All these photos look amazing don't get me wrong, I just can't really think of a reason to carry both at the same time.

Well, for some of us... we are just Knife Knuts and like to carry our knives.
For me, I think a fixed blade and a traditional folder is the perfect combination... but I'm not allowed to pocket carry a fixed blade.
So, when I'm doing yard work or heading to the outdoors, I'll carry a good locking modern knife as a replacement for a fixed blade.

There are folks out there who will freak out at the sight of some modern folding knives especially autos but don’t look twice at a traditional slip joint knife. That, and for me there are times when having a knife that I can open and close with just one hand is convenient. 😃
